[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1513604828816{padding-top: 10px !important;padding-right: 15px !important;padding-bottom: 15px !important;padding-left: 15px !important;background-color: #c09b58 !important;}”]According to Anne-Marie Anthony, Director of Research at the CNRS (The National Centre for Scientific Research) in 1982: \u00a0\u201cTowards the Upper Paleolithic era, 10,000BC, modern man was born and became sedentary at which point pottery became a family activity.\u00a0 The firing techniques of the period involved polishing and smoking the surface of the clay.\u00a0 The polishing was done using smooth pebbles before the clay was fully dried. This technique \u201csealed\u201d the surface and rendered the vessels relatively impermeable.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
